Commit to Yourself

As a weight loss dietitian/nutritionist empowering people to achieve the results they desire, we first need commitment to become a better you. When one is committed, it moves mountains and creates opportunities to have the weight loss one desires.

How does one become committed?

First, you have to ask yourself what is it you want? Make a decision to put both feet into the journey. Many people are looking for the quick fix, like wanting to win the lottery to make you rich; wanting to lose 20 pounds in one month is similar. Sure these are great outcomes, but as you know most people that win the lottery end up losing the money and people who have rapid weight loss regain the weight in 6-12 months.

Changing Your Mindset

A mindset adjustment will help you lose weight and keep it off. A key to losing weight is being able to imagine yourself how you want to be.

Visualize yourself in the healthier body you want. What clothes are you wearing? Are you tucking in your shirt? Are you wearing a more form fitting blouse? Are you showing off your assets? What activities are you involved in? Maybe you are finally taking the salsa dance class you always wanted to take or wearing a bathing suit to the beach.

Think of something in your life that has been very challenging and how you overcame it. What have you achieved that you are proud of? Whenever I am getting ready to embark on a journey, I remember how I overcame my demons. When I quit smoking years ago, I stopped drinking also. I added yoga into my life to replace those bad habits. I remember how I overcame my eating disorder that I had in my teenage years until midway through my first year of college. When you remember the successes you have had in life, you remember you are more powerful than you think you are.

To shift your mindset, you must believe in yourself! As a weight-loss dietitian, I believe my clients are able to make changes in their lives that will bring them to the body they desire!

To begin your weight-loss journey, commit to yourself, visualize yourself with the body you desire, and then believe in yourself! I believe in you!
